Understanding the WTC Health Program
The WTC Health Program delivers no-cost medical monitoring and treatment for those impacted by the September 11, 2001, attacks. It provides care for individuals diagnosed with certified WTC-related health conditions, such as respiratory illnesses, gastroesophageal disorders, and mental health issues like PTSD. The program also supports ongoing research into long-term health impacts of 9/11 exposures.
Eligible participants include responders to the attack sites in New York, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as well as residents, workers, and school attendees in the New York City disaster area.
Enrollment and certification depend on meeting specific criteria, including activity, location, time period, and exposure hour minimums. Once enrolled, you gain access to tailored medical and mental health care services, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
This federally funded program, authorized until 2090, aims to address both immediate and long-term health needs of qualifying individuals.
