The 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) provides financial compensation to individuals who suffered physical harm or were killed due to the September 11th attacks or related debris removal efforts. As a firefighter or first responder, you could be eligible for these funds if you were present in the Exposure Zone between September 11, 2001, and May 30, 2002.

Eligibility for the VCF includes responders who participated in rescue, recovery, debris cleanup, or other support activities at the World Trade Center site, Pentagon, or Shanksville crash site. Proof of presence during the specified time period is required, with documentation such as time sheets, department letters, or awards serving as verification. Alternative methods are available to validate eligibility if original records are unavailable.

The VCF, reauthorized under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, ensures financial relief for certified illnesses linked to 9/11 exposures.
